"Plans" referred to below can be found here (8Mb PDF)

Sarah,

It would be helpful if any 'mature trees' proposed for removal, along the embankment between Coronation Avenue and Wilford Lane, could be distinctly marked, so that local residents have the opportunity to observe the proposals, prior to start on 23rd January. Unfortunately I think this would be difficult to undertake as the contractor has limited time to undertake tree removal in the winter season across the scheme.

Also, do I assume that all trees and vegetation will be removed on the final 200 metres before Wilford Lane, and the designated route between Wilford Lane and Ruddington Lane, to facilitate the embankment removal? As shown on the plans, all the vegetation will be removed but this will be in two phases; initially the majority of the vegetation will be removed, with the trees at the foot of the embankment retained. These will then be removed at a later date when the excavation works are taking place.

A similar question for the designated route between Ruddington Lane and the A52 Underpass, which is currently in a deep cutting.? Same approach as above

Are any tree clearance works required, theron, across to Southchurch Drive, Clifton? Although I don’t yet have the plans available for this section, trees that are on the tram alignment will need to be removed. Beyond the A52 there are considerably fewer trees affected.

Finally, will their be any clearance works that impact on Willwell Farm Nature Reserve? There is some impact on the Wilwell Cutting Nature Reserve where the tram alignment passes under the A52 and before it goes into the agricultural field. This is just on the edge of sheet 9 (attached). There is no impact on the Wilwell Cutting Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Perhaps, you could give me an online link to the relevant drawings indicating clearance proposals in Clifton North Ward, together with A3 copies to my Loxley House office, so that I am able to inform local residents more fully. Plans to be brought down on friday morning

Many thanks,

Cllr Roger Steel
