This is NET's response to the letter sent to them by the Iremongers Pond Association on 10th January 2012 Dear Mr XXXXXXXX Thank you for your interesting document, I have forwarded this to Matt Orchard as you have requested. Matt who works for Tramlink Nottingham is best placed to respond to the majority of your questions, however, I have provided information where I can. • Alternative parking to compensate for that lost on Main Road will be provided within a new car park located on the corner of Main Road and Coronation Avenue. This is shown on drawing 241592/900/DWG/504. • There is indeed a proposed surface water outfall into Iremonger Pond. This will be subject to the consent of the planning authority and the Environment Agency and measures such as oil interceptors will be put in place to ensure that no contaminated surface water runoff enters the watercourse. • The Environmental Statement for NET Phase Two can be found on the internet via the following link. Chapter 6 deals with noise including wheel squeal from the tramway and Annex 4 (Code of Construction Practice) outline measures to be taken to control pollution during construction. http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/netphase2/index.aspx?articleid=9341 With respect to the timeline for construction please find details below: Iremonger Pond Initial works affecting Iremonger Pond will commence in late January or early February 2012 to erect temporary fencing and vegetation clearance and last for approximately 2 weeks. Where the tramway crosses Coronation Avenue, water pipes, electricity and telecommunications will be diverted out of the way of the proposed tramway. These diversion should commence in March 2012 and will last approximately 5 months. Removal of part of the old railway embankment adjacent to Iremonger Pond is due to commence in March 2012 and will take approximately 3 months. This is necessary to maintain the flood area available to enable the construction of the flood wall on Coronation Avenue. The works on the wall will commence in summer 2012, once these works to the embankment are complete and will last approximately 4 months. The track and road junction where the tramway crosses Coronation Avenue are planned for late summer 2012 and will last for approximately 3 months. It is anticipated that the installation of the track adjacent to Iremonger Pond will be in spring 2013 and again will last approximately 3 months. Following completion of the above, additional work will be required to install poles to support the overhead electric wire and the signalling equipment. Testing and commissioning of the tramway will commence in late spring/early summer 2014. If you wish to reply to this email, please do so to the Tram email address tram@nottinghamcity.gov.uk.
