Chairman’s Report

BH reported that the Public Meeting was held on the 19th July and was well attended by both representatives of Gleeds, the contractor, the Police and our local Councillors and the public. Agreement was reached that only a small quantity of vehicles would use Coronation Ave for access and all lorries would be escorted along the Avenue. This turned out to be very successful and the local residents have been kept informed at all times by the contractor.

At the July area committee it was agreed that monies would be allocated to the Library and this has been confirmed in the Area minutes that £10,000 would be the sum. We intend to press still for a new Library but welcome this early allocation. DB will attend the area meeting on Wednesday 13 September to continue the fight. He will also meet with Nottingham City Transport to discuss the new bus timetable.

Any Other Business

a.

JS-C reported that he had made contact to obtain bulbs. SA reported that she still had some from last year.

b.

RS suggested a small illuminated sign (he had a photo) that lit up '30mph SLOW' if the limit was being broken. It would need to be carefully positioned, it was not an eyesore, and could be effective.
