1.                   Minutes:  minutes of the committee meeting held on 16 June 2008 were approved.

2                     Matters Arising from the minutes:

·         Litter bin for embankment near Emmanuel School:   Elaine Stenson was not present at the committee meeting so matter c/f

·         Iremonger’s Pond was discussed at some length at the AGM preceding this meeting

·         The village bus had been discussed at the AGM.  More information probably available at the next meeting

·         Play area:  BH had visited Bader Road with Elaine Stenson to see if space there is suitable for a play area.  Local residents would need to be approached for their approval or otherwise.  Elaine thought funds might be available.  More information will be available at the next committee meeting.

3.                   Community Arrow:  DB had agreed to write an editorial for the Arrow every month.  There was some feeling in the meeting that this glossy publication is not money well spent for the community and that a monthly contribution is too frequent.  To be raised at the next meeting.

4.                   Planters:  all agreed that these are an attractive addition to Wilford Village and more would be appreciated.  Elaine said that all the available money had now been spent and we would need to apply for a grant, which she would support.  The cost is approx. £500 for each planter, planted up and watered regularly by the Council.

5.                   Funding Opportunities:  Councillor Price had informed WCG that funds will be available to support the work of the Iremonger’s Pond Group. C/f to the next meeting when DB will be present.

6.                   Any other business:  Councilor Price had offered a tour of the Council House (with refreshments) on Thursday 25 September 008 from 7.30-9.00pm.

The next meeting is at the Wilford Bowls and Social Club on Monday 15 September 2008 at 7.30 p.m.
