Framework Knitters Museum Relaunch

Framework Knitters Museum, Ruddington

The Framework Knitters Museum, Ruddington, is celebrating the launch of the first stage of the redevelopment of the museum made possible by the Heritage Lottery Fund, and the opening of two brand-new exhibitions - including the UK’s first gallery entirely dedicated to the Luddite revolt. To mark the occasion they are holding a free family fun day at the museum on Chapel Street, which will run from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm, with last admission at 4:00 pm. The Annual General Meeting of Wilford Community Group takes places on Monday 21st July at 7:30pm at the Ferry Inn, Main Road Wilford. All residents are welcome and the committee is always looking for new committee members, especially from the Ruddington Lane / St Austell Drive areas.

The 2014 Wilford Community Group AGM takes place on Monday 21st July. The nomination form for committee officers and members is now available to download by clicking here. The Group always needs new members, especially from the Ruddington Lane, St Austell Drive area and surrounding roads. You do not have to be at the AGM to get elected - just complete the form and pass it to an existing committee member or post through the letterbox at 6 Vernon Avenue.

WILFORD LIBRARY SITE - OPTION FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY?

26th June 2014

Residents will know that the library site is due to be auctioned in July, with  guide price of between £30,000 and £40,000. Information from Councillor Pat Ferguson suggests that a prospective buyer has made a pre-auction offer to the council with a view to the site being made into a community space.

MORE PARKING RESTRICTIONS - MAIN ROAD

29th May 2014

Today, additional parking restrictions have been implemented by the City Council on Main Road. Double-yellow lines have appeared in some places and restricted parking has been introduced outside South Wilford School meaning that teachers will have to park elsewhere. These restrictions have been implemented despite objections from Wilford Community Group, local residents and ward councillor Roger Steel. These restrictions will be on the agenda for the next meeting of Wilford Community Group taking place on Monday 16th June and resident are welcome to make their views known to the Group.

 

BEDDING PLANT SALE, HOLY AVENUE ALLOTMENTS

The web site is maintained by the Wilford Community Group which is the tenants and residents association for Wilford. The site includes, therefore, information about committee meetings (future and past) and public meetings. It will be used as a forum to publicise events and current campaigns undertaken by the committee on behalf of the tenants and residents of Wilford.
