Pumpkin Carving Competition:


Celebrate Halloween this year with a spooky, socially distanced and sufficiently scary Wilford Pumpkin Carving Competition!

There is a grand prize for the best family of ghoulishly carved pumpkins (celebrations and wine), a box of celebrations for the two best child entries, and 8 selection boxes for runners-up. 

All prizes are generously donated by the Wilford Co-Operative Store.

Submit your photos online by 6:00pm on Halloween, 31st October, to be considered.

Wilford Pumpkin Trail:


In Tier 3, we are heavily advised not to go door-to-door Trick-or-Treating. For the health of our community and the vulnerable individuals on every street and in every house, we very much advise everyone to follow this.


This year, many will be disapointed that won't be able to Trick-or-Treat as we'd normally like to. Instead, one local idea some are doing is displaying their pumpkins (or a pumpkin poster) outside their door or at their window.

Families are then going street to street, spotting the creepy carved ​creations as they walk around, but not knocking on doors.

Parents may wish to create their own Trick-or-Treating for their children by handing out sweets as they stumble across new pumpkins and pumpkin pictures.

A poster is available below for those wishing to advertise their pumpkin or join in the fun; as well as for those wishing to make clear that they are not welcoming Trick-or-Treaters.
