Wilford May Day 2026

2:00pm - 5pm Monday 4th May

**New Locaton - Moderns Rugby Club**

Wilford's May Day celebration is back. We'll have the Brownies performing traditional Maypole Dancing, the crowning of our May Queen, BBQ, Tea, Cake, bouncy castle and more. All free.

Please note we have a new home for this year. Moderns Rugby Club, just a little further down Main Road near the Ferry Inn. Which means there will be a paid bar this year too.

Map here.

Your donations make May Day happen

Our May Day celebrations are only possible thanks to the generosity of our community. Each year, we rely entirely on donations to bring the event to life and keep it free for everyone to enjoy.

Last year, donations didn’t quite cover the full cost of running the event. That's why we ran a fundraising quiz back in March. Thanks to our generous community, we can go ahead this year.

In the past, your kind support has not only funded May Day but also helped make other local favourites possible, such as the Elf Hunt, the pumpkin competitions, sweets for the Christmas lights switch on, and prizes for the Christmas lights competition.

These events bring joy to so many people in our village and only happen because of your support. If we are not able to cover the cost of May Day through donations in the future, we might not be able to run the event at all.

We are committed to keeping May Day free so it remains open and accessible to everyone. Every donation, no matter the size, really does make a difference.

Thank you for helping keep the spirit of May Day alive.
