Wilford Support Team
Helping those who need a bit of extra help
We're a group of people in Wilford who have come together to support the community during the Covid-19 situation. If you need help get in touch. If you can help please sign up.
The Plan
The plan is simple, we match those needing help with those offering help. This can include delivering shopping, picking up prescriptions or having a friendly chat.
Please always follow the latest NHS Advice
And the answers to some FAQ's
To help those who have signed up to help here's some of the FAQ's
When will I be added to a Whatsapp group?
We've removed the Whatsapp group please now join https://www.facebook.com/groups/786546078534916/
We're only accepting those that have completed the form above first, so please do that.
Why haven't I been matched with anyone?
We currently have more volunteers than those needing help. A lovely problem to have. We've not forgotten about you, and we are grateful to have you on standby.
Do I have to be in the Facebook group to help?
No. Just let Sophie know you'd rather not be.
I've offered to help but I'm now ill or self-isolating should I let you know?
Yes please, we'll take you off the list until your back on your feet and help you in any way we can.
Who will contact me?
Pat Huxley and Sophie Blaken are running the group and so will be the ones to contact you.
Are you accepting donations of money or food?
We're not currently taking individual donations for money, we love that you are offering, and we'll let you know if that changes.
If you'd like to donate food the Meadows Foodbank or Hope Center are better placed to manage this. Any food donations we receive are passed directly to the foodbank.
